Tuition and Policies
Here at Unique Technique we consider ourselves a recreational dance studio with zero annual contracts!
Safety:
Dance Classes are very physical activities! We have classes for all ages, sizes, genders and dance levels. However, YOU are responsible for your child/yourself being in good health and physical form to attend movement based activities! Please keep this in mind before you enroll in classes

We are located in the Irongate Area. Just up the hill from the Humane Society, on the corner of Bakerview Spur and Division St. Behind the large warehouses. You will see our white warehouse with the word DANCE! on the side
Registration:

All classes require registration in advance through our program. Even our "drop in classes" require pre-registration. All students need to open an account and sign waivers before attending classes

We use the Dance Studio Pro program for our registration. You can create an account, enroll in classes and pay tuition. Click here to go to our registration page.

Email is our main way of communication so please check regularly for our emails

The BAND app is the other main communication tool. Ask for the link to your classes BAND page to get Videos and more!

Children's Classes- Monthly Tuition Based:
Tuition is based on our annual dance season/summer
season (Sept-June and July-Aug) and is
separated into equal monthly payments

Multiple child and class discounts available!

A non-refundable $25.00 registration fee is used to
hold a place in our children's programs

At the studio there is a tuition box to deposit payments

Tuition is due the first of each month

Any payments received after the 7th of the month will automatically be subject to a $10.00 late fee
Cancellations:

Withdrawal of classes needs to be done within 48 hours of the first dance class for a full studio credit

No cash refunds will be given

Session duration varies. Once enrolled in a class, you are committing to the full session of that particular class

We are holding a spot for you in our classes until we hear otherwise from you

If you/your child wish to stop coming to dance classes, PLEASE email UTD.office.team@gmail.com and let us know immediately

You will be responsible for tuition until we hear from you about unenrollment

We have wait lists for many classes, so if you do not let us know, you could be keeping other people/children from getting into a dance class
Proper Attire:
Children's classes:

Hair should be worn away from face and off the neck,
short hair should be clipped back.

Absolutely no jeans or dirty shoes please

Students may have bare feet until proper shoes are purchase

All shoes must be clean of dirt or mud
Ballet, tap, creative dance:

Ballet shoes, Tap shoes, tights, and dance leotard

Tutu, leg warmers, etc. OK

Jazz/Performance team:
-
Jazz shoes(Tan), tights, leotard or comfortable snug fitting clothing
Tap:

Tap shoes and comfortable outfit
Musical Theater:

Ballet or Jazz shoes. Dance leotard and tights
Hip Hop:

Sneakers, (Converse/Chucks) bare feet or CLEAN/non-marking sneakers, comfortable pants and shirt
Adult Classes:

Comfortable clothing to move around in

Appropriate shoes for the class or bare feet

Sexy clothing encouraged for our exotic dance classes
We recommend purchasing your dance attire from:

Policies:

Zero tolerance for "bullying" or hate of any kind. We are accepting of everyone here at UTD

We open ongoing Children's classes to new students the 1st class of each month only

No gum, food, candy, or drinks other than water are permitted

Please bring a water bottle to every class

Please make sure to contact us before any missed classes

Cash refunds will not be given for missed classes

Studio Credit will be given for cancellations made at least 48 hours in advance

Studio doors open 10 minutes prior to class
-
If you have a medical condition that could interfere with your dancing, please let us know in advance
Parent Watch Days:
Our lobby is quite small, so we do encourage family members to wait in their cars or run errands while students are in class. However, if your dancer needs extra support, you are more than welcome to stick around. and utilize the lobby. If this becomes distracting we will chat about other alternatives
We will have small, in house performances where parents/family will get to see what the classes have been working on
Holidays and Inclement weather:
Unique Technique Dance children's classes run with the Bellingham school district calendar, all major holidays and breaks are observed. This does not include teacher workdays, presidents days or "bank holidays." If for any reason school is canceled (bad weather) dance classes will not be held. We cannot guarantee make up classes for weather related cancellation
