What age can kids start classes?
We accept children from walking age, typically around 18 months to 2 years old. Our Tiny Tots program is designed specifically for very young children and welcomes parent or guardian participation.
Do I need experience to take adult classes?
Absolutely not. All of our adult classes and workshops are geared toward beginners unless otherwise specified. We welcome ALL dance levels and body types. You are one class away from a better mood — we mean it.
What should my child wear to class?
Comfort is key. Wear clothing that allows free movement. Ballet classes typically call for leotards or fitted dancewear. Hip hop classes allow comfortable clothing and sneakers. When in doubt, stretchy and comfortable works great.
How do I enroll?
Use the Schedules menu at the top of this page to find the class you're interested in and follow the enrollment link. A $25 non-refundable registration fee plus first month's tuition are due at enrollment. Questions? Email UTD.office.team@gmail.com
Are classes offered year-round?
Kids classes run with the local school year (September through June). Summer camps and summer classes run June through August. Adult classes and workshops run year-round. After-school programs follow school calendars.
Do you offer after-school programs?
Yes! We offer after-school dance classes at many Bellingham and Ferndale elementary schools. Check our current schedule for partner schools and availability.
What if a class gets cancelled or doesn't fill?
Any class with 4 or fewer students may be postponed or canceled. We run the first class to allow for last-minute enrollment, and give notice after that first class. We try lots of new styles, so if a class doesn't run, another great option is usually available.
What's included in a summer camp?
Summer camps are immersive week-long experiences combining dance technique, creative projects, and performance. We also partner with Rachel's Whimsical Art for camp-specific art projects. Check the summer camp schedule for specific themes, ages, and dates at each location.
Are there scholarships or financial assistance?
Yes. Scholarships and payment plans are available. We are a small business that genuinely cares about our community, and we want financial barriers to never stand between someone and dance. Email UTD.office.team@gmail.com to discuss options confidentially.
Do you have performances or rehearsals?
We offer in-house performances where students can share what they've been working on — always optional and always celebratory.
